2 charged after over 30 kg of methamphetamine seized in Australia's Victoria

MELBOURNE, April 24 (Xinhua) -- A man and woman have been charged after police in the southeast Australian state of Victoria seized over 30 kg of methamphetamine during a search of their vehicle.

Police said in a statement on Friday that officers intercepted the vehicle near the town of Wangaratta, 200 km northeast of Melbourne, on Wednesday, near the interstate border.

Two occupants of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of a drug of dependence.
